HOW DOES CRYSTALLINE WATERPROOFING WORK?
Although concrete appears solid, its internal structure contains microscopic pores and capillaries that can allow water to migrate through the material.
CRISTALPROOF crystalline waterproofing technology is designed to reduce this permeability from within the concrete. When the active ingredients come into contact with moisture and the cementitious matrix, they promote the formation of insoluble crystalline structures throughout the capillary network.
The crystals progressively reduce water pathways and help prevent further water penetration. The waterproofing effect therefore becomes integrated into the concrete rather than relying only on a coating or membrane bonded to the surface.
This makes crystalline waterproofing suitable for concrete structures exposed to groundwater, hydrostatic pressure, humidity and intermittent or continuous water contact.

Preventive Waterproofing:
Preventive waterproofing systems are installed during concrete construction to seal vulnerable areas such as construction and cold joints.
A critical area is the joint between the concrete raft and the vertical wall. ACOCHEM offers two main solutions for these applications: hydrophilic swell joints and reinjectable injection hose systems.
Hydrophilic swell joints are installed in the joint before the concrete is poured. When exposed to water, the material expands and seals the joint. ACOCHEM offers both bentonite-based and polymer-based swell joints.
Injection hoses are also installed in the construction joint before concreting. If water infiltration occurs, the hose can be injected with resin to seal the joint. The system can also be reinjected when required.
